Statistics from the latest China Population Statistics Yearbook 2006 indicated that the number of Chinese children aged below 12 was about 320 million in 2006 and averagely 16 million new babies were born in China each year. The growth of new born babies got accelerated since the beginning of 2004 ... with the coming of Chinas 3rd round of Baby Boom after the first two in the 1950s and the 1980s. In 2008, there are above 22 million new babies born in China.

The expenditure for children accounts for 30% of the total family budget, including foods, nursing, clothing, toys, strollers, medical examination, early education, etc for the purpose of success starting from childhood. As a whole, the annual national consumption for maternal and babies aged from 0 to 3 hits US 14 billions, and that for children aged from 4 to 12 hits US 86 billions. In particular, there is an obvious increase in imported high-quality products and neo-tech for babies and pregnant mothers.
